Zella Hicks

Graveside services for Zella Mae Hicks, 88, of Ruidoso will Wednesday, March 18, at 11:00 AM in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Ruidoso, NM. Mrs. Hicks passed away Monday, March 16, in Ruidoso. She was born October 2, 1920 at Cushman, Arkansas to Mellie and A. B. Sherrill. Mrs. Hicks moved to Edna, Texas in 1946 with her husband C.R. Hicks where he farmed and ranched. They moved to Ruidoso in 1989 from Edna and spent many happy years in the mountains with their many new friends in retirement. Mrs. Hicks was a homemaker, business woman, music teacher to many and a friend of many others. She married Clifton Robert C.R. Hicks and he preceded her in death on May 10, 2005. She is survived by a son, Jerral Hicks of Las Cruces, NM; a daughter, Carol Ann Dorsey of Edna, Texas; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Hicks and a grandson, Douglas Hicks Jr.
