Walter Stowe

September 30, 1930 — April 29, 2018

Walter H. Stowe was born on September 30,1930 in El Paso, Texas to H.W.B. and Myrtle Stowe. Walter attended Austin High School and Texas Western College where he met the love of his life, Patricia Patrick, who he married on March 28,1952. He then went to work at the First State Bank where he was a cashier until he joined his father-in-law, Pat Patrick in the insurance business and together they formed Patrick and Stowe Insurance. Walter began his own company in 1965, Tri-State Insurance Agency. He later merged with Rogers and Belding Insurance and continued as a partner there until his retirement in 2002. He and Trish moved to Alto, New Mexico later that year where he was active in golf and together they enjoyed an active social life and made many wonderful friends to add to their many life-long El Paso friends. Throughout his life, Walter was active in many charitable organizations and the Lions Crippled Children's Camp was most near and dear to his heart.

Walter had a life-long passion for golf and anyone who ever played with him would remark on his "memorable swing". In spite of that swing he managed to have a career 4 holes in one. Walter was a kind and loving man and much beloved by his family and all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy, and brother, Gerald.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Patricia 'Trish" Stowe; daughters, Linda Ward (Don), Ann Sedita (Louis), Amy Case (Randy) and Cindy Stowe, sister, Irma Weise (Chuck) as well as 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his dear sisters-in-law, Dorothy Folk (Larry) and Mary McPherson (Doug) who spent many weeks helping Trish care for Walter. The family is most grateful to them and to the Ruidoso Hospice team who helped guide the family through the last few months.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bonito Volunteer Fire Department in Alto, New Mexico or The Humane Society of Lincoln County, New Mexico.

His memorial service will be Monday, May 7, in The Church of Saint Clement, 810 N. Campbell, El Paso, TX 79902
