Wallace Whiteley

Wallace Dillon Whiteley, 85, of Ruidoso passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2017 in Ruidoso. He was born September 6, 1931 in Artesia, NM to Verdie and Harry Whiteley who both have preceded him in death.

He attended Ruidoso High School and loved to play football and basketball and graduated in 1950. After graduation he joined the Navy and served during the Korean War. He worked for Texaco for 44 years and retired in 1992 as a pipefitter and supervisor over the contractors. He moved back to Ruidoso in December, 1992 from El Paso, TX. He married Edna Ann on April 1, 1970 in El Paso, TX.

He is survived by his wife, Eddie of Ruidoso; daughter, Janet Norine Ellis of Ruidoso; two sons, Kent Allen Beard of Fulshear, TX and Jeffery Linden Beard of Ruidoso; 5 grandchildren, Treasa Ann Austin, Jason Bryan Beard, Justin Lane Beard, Carson Grant Beard and Kross Beard; 7 great grandchildren, Brittany Barker, Joshua Beard, Madeline Beard, David Beard, Sofia Beard, Hadley Beard and Lillian Beard.

Mr. Whiteley was a family oriented man and loved everyone, he never met a stranger!

The family has requested memorials to the Humane Society of Lincoln County.
