Tyler Skeen

December 1, 1985 — May 25, 2020

Ruidoso, NM

It is with very broken hearts we remember and cherish the time we had with a loving husband, beloved son, and friend, Tyler Skeen, 34. E.T. phoned home on May 25, 2020. Tyler was a light to all who knew him, full of wit, sarcasm, kindness, generosity and orneriness. He entered this life on December 1, 1985 in Roswell, NM to Mikell and Gail Skeen. Tyler was a self-taught musician with the electric guitar being his gift. He was extremely intelligent and with Ty around, you didn’t need Google. His love for aviation started young with his father and the adrenaline rush he was always chasing. Tyler also had a gift for marksmanship and a vast knowledge of firearms. After graduating a year early from Capitan High, Tyler attended ENMU-Roswell and worked as a DJ for Roswell 106.5 KEND. He then went to NMSU to study horticulture, where he met Sarah. Tyler moved back to the ranch, awaiting his 21st birthday, to work for USDA APHIS Wildlife Services as an aerial gunner. Ty enjoyed years of sheep ranching, controlling predators from the ground, as well as from the air, through drought, flood, and fire, to protect his flock and families way of life. Tyler married his soulmate on September 2, 2017 after 10 years of being inseparable. Ty’s big heart and romantic gestures will be cherished forever including fresh cut roses on Sarah’s dash and love notes waiting to be found. Tyler had many dreams for the future including being a father and putting a CNC machine to work.

Tyler leaves behind his wife Sarah Skeen; mother Gail Skeen; nephew Lane Skeen; grandmother Dottie Edwards; aunt Lisa Skeen-Livingston; cousin Ross Livingston; loving in-laws; aunts; cousins; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his best friend and father Mikell Skeen; and Grandparents Joe and Mary Skeen.

Tyler strongly believed in the Golden Rule and always put others before himself. Should friends desire, please make contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project or Extreme Couture GI Foundation.

A Celebration of His Life will be Saturday, May 8, 2021, at the White Mountain Meadows Pavilion beginning at 11:00 A.M.
