A Celebration of Life memorial service for Tommy Tom Freeman, 75 of Capitan, N.M., will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, May 20, 2011 at Christ Community Fellowship Church in Capitan with Rev. Alan Stoddard officiating.
Mr. Freeman was born on February 25, 1936 in Paola , Kansas to Leslie and Nettie Hobbs Freeman and passed away on May 14, 2011 at his home in Capitan. Tom grew up in El Reno, Oklahoma. He was a Veteran of the US Army, obtaining rank of Sergeant First Class, where he served for a little over 8 years. After leaving the service, Tom was employed by the Civil Service at Ft. Hood, TX and Ft. Bliss, TX. After retirement he owned a variety of businesses including Sunland Custom Feeds in El Paso and Ruidoso. In 1997 he and Suzanne married in Lincoln County where they owned the Alto Fruit Market and for the last 7 years were proprietors of Toms BBQ Restaurant in Capitan.
Tom is survived by his wife, Suzanne Freeman of Capitan his son, Mike Freeman and wife Starr of Round Rock, TX his daughters, Nanette Nabours of New Braunfels, TX, and Robin Nowotny and husband Carl of New Braunfels, TX, former wife, Mary Jane Davis Porter of New Braunfels, 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
