Tom Sawyer

Memorial service for Tom Sawyer, 73, of Ruidoso will be Wednesday, May 4, at 10:00 AM at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Mount in Ruidoso. Mr. Sawyer was born June 18, 1937 at Los Angeles, California and passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2011 in Ruidoso.

He moved to Ruidoso 12 years ago from Pueblo, Colorado to be near his grandson, Sawyer. He loved to build model rockets and shoot them with his grandson. He acheived a Life Master Award in Bridge, and loved cars and to race motorcycles, he attended the Episcopal Church of the Holy Mount. He married Mary Heyl on October 9, 1953 in Tijuana, Mexico.

He is survived by his wife Mary of Ruidoso two daughters, Marilyn Franklin of Glendale, California and Carilyn Miller and her husband Mark of Ruidoso and the love of his life, his grandson, Sawyer.

The family has requesed memorials to the American Cancer Society.
