Visitation for Timothy H. Tim Rich, 80, of Ruidoso will be Friday, Oct. 24, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Funeral services will be Saturday, Oct. 25, at 9:30 AM in the Episcopal Church of the Holy Mount with military honors and masonic rites at Ft. Stanton Cemetery. Mr. Rich passed away Monday, Oct. 20, at Aurora, Texas while at his sons home. He was born July 21, 1928 in Pangburn, Arkansas to James L. and Cleo Hildred Rich who both precede him in death. He had served in the U.S. Navy, was a Master Mason and a Shriner and spent most of his life in sales in the garment industry. He retired to Lincoln County in 1991, he was a special deputy with the Lincoln County Sheriffs Office and a member of the Sheriffs Posse. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Mount and spent many hours as a volunteer with the church. Tim married Bonnye Thomas on June 5, 1955 in Sligman, Missouri having celebrated 53 years of marriage this past June. Bonnie preceded Tim in death on September 24, 2008. Tim is survived by his children, Kim Partain and her husband Terry of Mesa, Arizona, Kelly Squyres and her husband Rusty of Pittsburg, Oklahoma, and Todd Rich and his wife, Betsy of Aurora, Texas; grandchildren, Joshua and Kerri Gordon, Rob and Sherri Smith, Clint and Kendra Partain, Lyndall and Chrystal Smith, Jay Squyres, Jonathan and Jennifer Rich and Tyler Rich; great grandchildren, Hunter and Sami Smith, Kensley Partain, Colby and Caleb Squyres, Austin and Deacon Smith, and Tyler Rich; and a sister, Jackie Meador. Also many nieces, nephews, and other family dear friends. He was also preceded in death by a son. Tim will always be remember for that special smile and laugh he carried in life. The family has requested memorials to the Masonic Lodge of Ruidoso, 144 Nob Hill Drive, Ruidoso, NM 88345.
