It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tia Cecilia Torivio, who tragically departed from this life on August 5, 2024, in Bent, New Mexico. Tia was born on January 16, 1990, in Phoenix, Arizona, and brought immense joy and love to all who knew her.
Tia's vibrant and loving personality touched the lives of many. She was known for her infectious happiness, always seeking peace, and spreading love wherever she went. Tia loved to hug, bringing warmth and comfort to those around her. Her unwavering positivity and sunny disposition never failed to brighten everyone's day.
Tia found solace in nature and dedicated her time to working for forestry, reveling in the beauty of the outdoors. An avid skateboarder, she embraced adventure and thrived in the thrill of the sport. Her love for her children knew no bounds and was evident in every aspect of her life.
Family and friends were the cornerstone of Tia's world, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. In mourning her loss, Tia leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Tia is survived by her beloved sons, Michael Anthony Davalos and Amadeus Phoenix Torivio, her dear mother Lenore Bigrope, father Jarvis Torivio, sisters Dellis J. Torivio, Sienna A. Torivio, and Hilary E. Sago, and grandmother Geniveve DeLaCruz (San Carlos Apache). She also leaves behind her Aunt Laverne Nasitima, Uncle and Aunt Hubert and Mary Imus, Aunt Rainey Enjady, Uncle James Bigrope Sr. and family, Aunt Florence Bigrope and family, and nieces and nephews Alana, Irie, Roylee, Kaya, Malakai, and Julien, along with many other cherished family members and friends.
Tia was preceded in death by her brother Barry Humphrey, Uncle Arlen Bigrope, Aunt Audrey Cavazone, and maternal grandfather Leroy Bigrope, and maternal grandmother Darlene Enjady.
A viewing for Tia will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024, at Mescalero Assembly of God Church starting at 8:00 a.m. The funeral service honoring her life will be held at the same location at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Interment will follow at Mescalero Cemetery.
