Sylvia Mae Scott

September 30, 1925 — January 2, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sylvia Mae Scott, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was born on September 30, 1925 in Atoka, Oklahoma, and went to be with the Lord on January 2, 2025. Sylvia spent her life spreading joy, kindness, and love to everyone she met.

Sylvia was a beacon of warmth, always offering a listening ear and supportive shoulder. She loved to cook and sew, the kitchen was her sanctuary, where she found both comfort and creativity. Whether preparing a family recipe passed down through generations or experimenting with new flavors, her passion for cooking was evident in every dish she made. When you walked by her house, the sweet aroma of her freshly baked goods would always fill the air. Sylvia brought warmth and compassion to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her presence lit up the lives of those around her, and while she will be deeply missed, her laughter and love will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving children, Aubry Gene Scott (his son, Audie Scott, and daughters, Audra Serna, Cindy Scott, and Regina Scott); David Scott (his daughters, Jodi Scott, Talori Scott, and sons, Waylon Scott, Arlis Scott, and Justin Scott); and Rick Scott (his son, Brent Scott, and daughter, Ashley Duran); brother Ben Gaddis; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and a community of family and friends who will continue to honor her memory by living with the same grace and compassion she displayed every day.

Sylvia is preceded in death by her husband, Aubry Gordon Scott; parents, Jessie and Alta Gaddis; brothers, Loyd Gaddis, Frank Gaddis, Bunk Gaddis, Paul Gaddis; sister, Mary McCoy; and granddaughter, Linda Jean Winfield.
