Visitation for Stephen Albert Fey Sr., 85, of Ruidoso will be Tuesday, Aug. 21, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at LaGrone Funeral Chapel, the funeral mass will be Wednesday, Aug. 22, at 2:30 PM at St. Eleanor's Catholic Church in Ruidoso with Rev. Al Galvan officiating. Burial will follow at the Ruidoso-Hondo Valley Cemetery. Mr. Fey passed away Saturday, August 18, in the Mescalero Care Center. He was born in Selma, Texas on May 17, 1922, he attended Elementary and High School in San Antonio, Texas. He received his Bachelor degree in History and a Masters degree in Public School Administration at Southwest Texas Univ. at San Marcos, Texas. He was a public school administrator in San Antonio and Beeville, Texas for 35 years before retiring in June 1982. Prior to his service in the school system, he served in the 15th Air Force during World War II as a 2nd Lieutenant for four years1941-1945. He flew 35 missions in B-24 planes over Germany and other war torn European countries. He was discharged from the Air Force August, 1945 at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas. He attended St. Eleanor's Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Lucille of Ruidoso; two children, Becky Fey Burgess and her husband Bill of San Saba, Texas and Stephen A. Fey Jr. of Ruidoso; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. The family has requested memorials to St. Eleanor's Catholic Church, PO Box 8300, Ruidoso, NM 88355.
