Sheryl Southard

Sheryl Lulu Southard, 64, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Mescalero. She was born November 2, 1944 at Carlsbad, New Mexico and moved to Lincoln County in 1969 from Carlsbad, New Mexico. She worked for over 20 years at the Ruidoso Downs Jockey Club, in the late 1970's and early 1980's she worked at Bennett's Grocery Store while co-owner of Southard Roofing with her husband Joe T. Southard. She married Joe T. Southard in 1965 in Carlsbad, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on October 5, 1992. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Chet and Lee Ann Southard; half brother, Rusty Lewellan; step dad, Vernon Lewellan; grandchildren, Ashlee Cillessen and her husband Dale, Layne Southard, and Shelby Southard; and sister in law, Patsy Binkley. The family will have private services at Ouray, Colorado as requested by Lulu.
