Sherman Blake

Sherman "Johnna" Benedict Blake, III., was born on March 23, 1995, in Ruidoso, New Mexico and passed on October 7, 2024, in Mescalero, New Mexico. Sherman is preceded in death by his father, Sherman "Ben" Blake, Jr., and his brother Clint P. Blake. He is survived by his mother Janelle Tso-Blake, his partner Valencia Hirner, and nephew Santana Blake, which is his pride and joy. He is also survived by his aunts, Olinda Blake and Kathy Murphy.

Sherman attended Mescalero and Ruidoso High Schools in New Mexico. Sherman was employed with the Inn of the Mountain Gods where he was learning to be a chef. Sherman had a voice like no other. Johnna loved to sing and the power in his voice will never be forgotten. He is dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Rosary service will be held on Thursday October 10, 2024, at 6:00pm at St. Joseph Apache Mission. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday October 11, 2024, at 10:00am at St. Joseph Apache Mission. Burial will follow at Mescalero cemetery.
