Sheila Shanta

Visitaton for Sheila Mae Shanta, 44, of Mescalero will be Friday, Aug. 15, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM in LaGrone Funeral Chapel of Ruidoso. The prayer service will be Saturday, Aug. 16, at 10:00 AM with the funeral mass at 1:30 PM in St. Joseph's Mission at Mescalero with burial to follow at the Mescalero Cemetery. Ms. Shanta passed away Wednesday, Aug. 13, in Mescalero. She was born May 13, 1964 in Mescalero and had lived there all of her life. She had worked at the Inn of the Mountain Gods and The Old Road Restaurant and attended St. Joseph's Mission. She is survived by her children, Edgar Torres III, Rozena Shanta, and Bobby Morgan; her brothers and sisters, Ralph Shanta III, Karen Kadayso, Dawnelle Chavez, and Deanna Shanta; her step-mother, Esther Balatche and several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
