The prayer service for Scott Ryan Palmer Scotty, 26, of Mescalero will be Sunday, Oct. 18, at 6:00 PM in St. Joseph's Mission where the funeral mass will be on Monday, Oct. 19, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at the Mescalero Cemetery. Scotty was born March 1, 1983 in Ruidoso and lived the first half of his life in Albuquerque and the second half in Mescalero. He graduated from Ruidoso High School and was attending Eastern New Mexico University. He was a wildland firefighter and was on the engine crew. His great grandfather was Naiche, his grandfather was Ignatius Palmer, he the person who designed the current logo for Mescalero Apache Tribe and his father is the current President. He is survived by his parents, Ada and Dr. Carleton Naiche-Palmer Ph.D.; two children, Caydence Palmer and Jewel Tahnito-Palmer; 4 sisters, Gina Fulsom, Michelle Naiche-Palmer, Melissa Chavez, and Lorilee Martinez; 1 brother, Marlin Palmer; his companion, Wynona Tahnito and many other relatives from the Enjady, Pellman, Kirgan, Skin, Fernando, Hugar, Blaylock, Naiche, Baca and Palmer families.
