Scott Randall Forster

March 12, 1968 — January 6, 2025

Scott Randall Forster, who teed off on March 12, 1968, went to the 19th hole on January 6, 2025. He was a dedicated PGA Golf Professional, obtaining his membership in 1993 and proudly representing the sport he loved.

Scott’s journey in education began at New Mexico Tech, where he attended in 1987 before transferring to NMSU and earning a Bachelor of Science in Professional Golf Management and Marketing in 1991. His passion for golf was evident early in life; he was the State of New Mexico High School state golf champion as an 8th grader and continued to pursue his love for the game as a member of the NMSU Golf Team from 1987 to 1991.

In addition to his accomplishments in sports, Scott's military service included being a West Point military cadet, demonstrating his commitment and discipline. He truly had the gift of conversation and never met a stranger, making friends everywhere he went. Scott's priority was always his family and friends.

Scott was employed by Alto Lakes Golf and Country Club for eleven years, from assistant pro to Director of Golf, before he left to pursue a new business venture. He was president and co-owner of Southwest Greens of New Mexico and West Texas. The franchise grew greatly because of his efforts over 23 years, which was acknowledged with numerous awards.

Scott was also an avid water skier throughout his life and enjoyed traveling to new places, which enriched his experiences and stories. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and passion, remembered fondly by all who knew him. He was a beloved husband and father, avid enthusiast of all life brings, and a hardworking provider to his family.

Scott is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Forster; daughters, August Forster, and Regan Forster; son, Aaron Forster; brother, Steve Forster; uncle, Tom Gentry and aunt, Kim Gentry; aunts, Chris Stable, and Joyce Humphries; uncle, Bo Beck, and aunt Maria Beck; and father, Jim Forster. He is preceded to the 19th hole by his mother, Bobbe Jane Forster; and uncle, Randall Beck (his middle namesake).

A commemoration of a life well lived will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Alto Lakes Country Club Pavilion with Kirk Taylor as master of ceremony.
