He moved to Lincoln County in 1929 from Weatherford. He served in the Army during World War II, was a former member of the Carrizozo Lions Club, former owner of the NAPA Automotive in Carrizozo and attended First Baptist Church. He is survived by his children, Billy Ray Means of Carrizozo, Jean Vissor of Montana, Ronald Dean Means of Roswell, Robert Lee Means of Carrizozo, Jeanette Baur of Roswell, Jimmy Wayne Means of Roswell, Thomas Burdette Means of Alamogordo, Francine Gayle Romo of Socorro, Timothy Alan Means of Carrizozo, Mildred Ann Means of Socorro, Pamela Lynn Bielefield of Tucson, Arizona, Barbara Sue Garcia of Mount Pleasant, Texas and Rebecca Gayle Means of Carrizozo; three brothers, Don Means of Carrizozo, Dick Means of Colorado and Norman V. Means of Oklahoma; three sister Sarah Lou Carwile of Carrizozo, Joy Means of Alamogordo and Verna Mae Rodman of Denver, Colorado; 25 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
