Robert Bob E. Hollis, 86 of Ruidoso, passed away on December 19, 2012 in Ruidoso. He was born on March 23, 1926 in Portales, NM to Floyd E. and Eura M. Rickard Hollis. He was raised in Clovis, Carlsbad, and Santa Fe and was a graduate of Santa Fe High School. Bob was a veteran of the Army Air Corps and stationed at Chanute Air Base during WWII.
He married Lois L. Westberg on November 24, 1947 in Grand Forks, ND. He worked as a lineman for Minnkota Power Co. from 1947 to 1949, and then moved to Farmington until 1952 when he moved to Ruidoso and opened his own Barber Shop in midtown, he retired in 1991. Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman and even made his own stocks for his guns. He was a member of the NRA and the American Legion. He was an active member of St. Eleanor Catholic Church and former member of the Knights of Columbus.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lois in 2009, his brother Floyd, and his sister Sue. He is survived by his son, Rick W. Hollis and his wife Nancy of Capitan his daughter, Rogene Rosie Clees and her husband Jim of Capitan two grandchildren, Ty and Johnny and four greatgrandchildren, Garrett, Kole, Chase and Kasie.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 AM on December 28, 2012 at St. Eleanor Catholic Church.
