Rema Pearlyn Spitty born June 10, 1957 to Nelson Kaydahzinne and Geraldine Gallerito-Kaydahzinne passed away on June 8, 2019. She is preceded in death by her father Nelson Kaydahzinne, mother Geraldine Gallerito, brothers William, Elheart, Francis, Wayland, Clifford, Clement, sisters, Marcella, Wilma, Silvia, Elezabeth, Cecilia.

She is survived by her husband, Oral Spitty, Sr., sons, Timothy Spitty and wife Letitia Spitty, Oral Spitty, Jr. and wife Deena Evans and Eric Spitty. She is also survived by her nieces who were like daughters Shana Duran, Faith Duran-Casares, and Sasha Aragon-Ward; her grandsons Tristen Spitty, Cullen Spitty, Boston Cox, and Liam Casares; her granddaughters Hailey Evans, Rema A. Spitty, and Alarice Spitty; her brothers Norris Kaydahzinne, Sr. and Neills Kaydahzinne; her sisters Naomi Kaydahzinne-Hiles, Lenore Kaydahzinne-Vasile, and Martha Duffy. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and many brothers and sisters in Christ.

Everyone knew Rema by her middle name Pearlyn or Pearl. Pearlyn was a kind and gentle soul who loved our dear Lord Jesus Christ beyond measure. She was a devoted and loving wife of forty-one years who enjoyed helping and providing for all of her family. She was the matriarch of the family and was committed to making every family function as special as she could. She loved writing poetry, her favorite scriptures, watching her hummingbirds, and spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren of whom she could never get enough.

Pearlyn worked for the Mescalero Apache Head Start Program for 36 years, working her way from a parent volunteer to eventually becoming the director of the Head Start Program. Pearlyn loved her job and took pride in watching all of the children develop year after year. She had a true passion for making a difference in the lives of all the children, staff, and colleagues she encountered.

Honorary Pallbearers are Zelda Speedy, Kenton Spitty, Emma Dawn Aragon, Una Spitty, Karen Moreno, Karlene Wadsworth, Tanya Hamilton, Marietta Bigmouth, Hope Salas, Boston Cox, Liam Casares, Aydan Burton, Kaylan Burton, Malachi Kaydahzinne, Katelyn Rose Kaydayzinne, Bradon Kaydahzinne, Terrance Robinson, Kaycee Robinson, Matthew Summa, Myra LaPaz, Bernadette Blaylock, Patricia Tsosie, Anna Klinekole, Jarilyn Ford, Damon Maria, Kaceney Wilson, Sandra Platero, Ruth Kie, Dr. Charandit Sodhi, Lela Peralta, and all Head Start Staff.

The prayer service will be Wednesday, June 12, at 6:00 P.M. at the Mescalero Assembly of God Church where the funeral will be on Thursday, June 13, at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at the Mescalero Cemetery.
