Prayer service for Raymond Kirgan, 70, of Mescalero will be Friday, May 15, at 6:00 PM in St. Joseph's Mission at Mescalero where the funeral mass will be on Saturday, May 16, at 1:00 PM, burial will follow at the Mescalero Cemetery. Mr. Kirgan passed away Tuesday, May 12, in Ruidoso. He was born August 2, 1938 at Mescalero and had lived there all of his life. He retired after 41 years of service to the Bureau of Indian Affairs Branch of Forestry. He stayed home three months then went to work at DRMP in Mescalero. He served 26 years on the Mescalero Apache Tribal Council. He had a passion for the Mescalero Apache Tribe and its future. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Beverly Kirgan; two sons, David Kirgan and Alan Kirgan; a daughter, Sharon Kirgan; nine grandchildren, R.J. Comanche, Waycey Comanche, John Kaydahzinne, Christlyn Kirgan, Myrandah Kirgan, Kreig Kirgan, Alexzander Kirgan, Alarah Kirgan and Alyn Kirgan. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Kirgan, his parents, Lena and Ernest Kirgan Sr. and two brothers, Pascal Kirgan and Ernest Kirgan Jr.
