Philip Neil Best was born in Chadron, Nebraska February 28, 1927 and died May 6, 2021 at the age of 94.
He joined the Coast Guard at the end of WW 2 at 17. He delivered mail, drove a Greyhound for years, drove for Navajo and retired from ABF Freight in Albuquerque, and worked as a courier in Ruidoso for 15 years for The Title Co., Lincoln County Abstract, GSV Title and PNM.
He was preceded in death by daughters Shelly Kizer and Candy Sue Best. He is survived by his wife Claudia, and daughters JoAnne Best of Wyoming, Gayle and Steve McKay of Washington, Dawn Best of Colorado, Phyllis and Ray Blair of Tijeras, and Paige Best; sons Philip and Aurora Best of Nebraska, Michael and Venus Best of Colorado, and Paul and Kimberly Best of Albuquerque. He had 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren.
He was a member of the Angus Nazarene Church in Angus, NM. A memorial will be held July 10 at 11:00 AM at Angus Church in Angus, NM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bonita Park Camp, 200 Bonita Park Rd., Angus, NM 88316, https://bonitapark.com/get-involved/donate
