Petra Sandoval

Petra Sandoval, age 88, passed away on July 12, 2023, in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. Petra was born on October 14, 1934, in Carrizozo, New Mexico to the late Martin and Lucia Vega.

Mrs. Sandoval was a hard worker, retiring as an administrative secretary for Lincoln County. Petra was an avid churchgoer and devout catholic. For many years she enjoyed making things for her loved ones. Her favorite thing was spending time with her family, especially her great grandson Brayden. She loved watching sports, gameshows, and her novellas. You could catch her cruising around town in the early mornings or late afternoons.

Petra is preceded in death by her parents; her children, twins, Gabriel and Lydia; brothers, Martin Vega Jr., and William Vega; sister, Patsy Vega; best friend Neva Rae Ventura; and her fur baby, best dog Panda.

Mrs. Sandoval is survived by her loving husband Sabino Sandoval; sons, Raul Sandoval, and Daniel Sandoval; daughters, Teresa Davis, Margaret Cordova, and Marcella Sandoval; grandchildren, Cameron and Bryce Sandoval, Matthew Ortiz, Krystal Torres, Strait Sandoval, Mylie and Jaxon Lanoy, and Scout the dog; great grandchildren, Brayden and Brynlee Sandoval, Caden and Carter Sandoval, Courtney and Ryan Ortiz, Gracie and Trinidad Torres; brother, George Vega, and David Vega; beloved friends, Margo Lindsey, Rachel Rominger, Eugenia Vega; and her many loved nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Flowers may be sent to Santa Rita Catholic Church in Carrizozo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Santa Rita Catholic Church in Carrizozo in remembrance of Petra Sandoval.
