Peggy M. Wilcox died peacefully surrounded by her family at Lincoln County Medical Center on December 14, 2011.

Peggy was born March 7, 1934 in Alamogordo, NM. She married Lester B. Wilcox on May 13, 1952. She is preceded in death by her parents Charley and Threva Trammell and her husband, Lester.

She is survived by her 3 daughters Linda LujanGino of Santa Rosa, Jana Rae BurchNorm of Roswell, and Laura ThompsonEddie of Tularosa grandkids, Jared Lujanfianc Annette Jacks, Adam LujanNicole, Isaac Vigil, Sarah Vigil, Casi PuckettMike, Adam Thompson, Riley Thompson great grandson, Jeremiah Vigil. Brother, Bill TrammellEvelyn, Brother in law, Lyndol WilcoxBetty, Sister in law, Sue WilmethWarren. Close cousins and friends Velda Black, Fred Lloyde ParkerLouise, Sammy BeachBetty Lou, Lonnie Lee SkinnerPatty Jo Pat BerryBill and numerous nieces and nephews.

Peggy came from a pioneer family of the Tularosa Basin and made her life in the area from Three Rivers to the Otero Mesa. Her lifelong joy was her family and was adamant about being able to help out in whatever way she could. Peggy was a homemaker and also worked outside of the home contributing to the family income. She supported Lester in his endeavors of trucking, farming, and horse racing. Peggy exemplified the idea of teaching by example, the family values of caring, honesty, responsibility, independence, and focusing on things that truly matter.

Cremation has occurred and memorials services were held at the Ruidoso Downs Racetrack Chapel.
