Paul Gibson

A memorial service for Paul David Gibson, 71, of Alto will be Tuesday, July 10, at 2:00 PM in LaGrone Funeral Chapel of Ruidoso with John Marshall officiating. Graveside services will be Wednesday, July 11, at 2:00 Pm in the Carlsbad Cemetery. Mr. Gibson passed away June 5 in El Paso, he was born April 6, 1936 in Carlsbad.He graduated high school from the New Mexico Military Institute and was a lifetime member of the alumni association. He attended college at Southern Methodist University and New Mexico State University. He worked for the New Mexico State Police, was Captain and Deputy Chief of the Carlsbad Police Deptartment and retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, he was a certified deputy of the Lincoln County Sheriffs Department. He was a member of the International Homicide Investigators and Homicide Investigators of Texas. He moved to Lincoln County in 1993 from Tennesse Colony, Texas. He married Betty Doyle in 1977 in Colorado City, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Ginny Willits and her husband Todd and Paul Grant Gibson; two step children, joybeth Baldarrama and Clifford Johnston Jr.; four grandchildren, Taylor Willits, Mitchell Willits, Shannon Johnston, and Shane Johnston.
