Oralia Najar

Oralia Ortiz Najar, 96, of Carrizozo, New Mexico was called home on October 15,2013.

Mrs. Najar was born February 13,1917 in Carrizozo, New Mexico to Daniel and Euphamia Ortiz.

Mrs. Najar and her family homesteaded the Ortiz Ranch west of Carrizozo now known as the Malkerson Ranch. She attended school until the 10th grade, when she left school to care for her siblings after her mothers death. She spent all of her life working as a caregiver and caring for others.

She enjoyed cooking, quilting, crocheting, and spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Refugio Najar, Sr. Her children, Euphamia and Michael. Her sisters, Viola Vigil and Josephine Ortiz. Her brothers, Daniel Ortiz and Paul Oritz. She is survived by her children Beatrice Sheehan of Carrizozo, NM Rachel Rominger and her husband, Chuck of Carrizozo, NM Martha Walters of La Luz, NM Carmen Hill and her husband, Marvin Hill, Sr. of Carrizozo, NM LeeRoy Najar, Sr. of Carrizozo, NM Refugio Najar, Jr. and his wife, Peggy of Carrizozo, NM and Albert Najar and his wife, Mary of Carrizozo, NM. Her brother, Joe Ortiz of Carrizozo, NM. Twenty grandchildren, thirtyeight great grandchildren, and two greatgreat grandchildren. Her half siblings, Henry Ortiz, Patsy and Rosie Lueras of Albuquerque, NM and numerous nieces and nephews.

The rosary will be Saturday, October 19, at 9:30 AM with the funeral mass to follow at Santa Ritas Catholic Church. Burial will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery.
