Opal Rice

Opal Etola Rice, born September 4, 1920, passed away at a local care center on Tuesday, Oct. 28, following a long illness with Alzheimers disease. She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and devoted her life to the doing of God's will of preaching the good news of the Kingdom rule by Christ Jesus. She was preceded in death by her late husband Roy Emmett Rice, June 7, 2000 after a marriage of 60 years. She also was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, Roy L. Rice and his wife Leslie of Ruidoso and four grandchildren and three great grandchildren of the Midland and Odessa, Texas area. Memorial services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 1102 Gavilan Canyon Road on Saturday, November 1, at 3:00 PM. Special thanks would like to be given to the excellent staff of the Mescalero Care Center and all of you who gave her spcial personal attention during her last days and a special thanks to Dr. Michael Clements for his tender compassion, love and concern that the showed the family. Also the much needed encouragement and love from the Ruidoso Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
