Nacha Verdugo

Nacha Verdugo, 90, of Carrizozo passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at her home in Carrizozo. She was born October 13, 1921 at Rebenton, NM and had lived in Lincoln County all of her life. She worked at the Carrizozo Municipal Hospital until it closed after many years of service, she loved to quilt. She attended Santa Ritas Catholic Church.

She married Chui Verdugo on February 12, 1945 in Carrizozo and he preceded her in death on June 5, 2007. She is survived by 7 children, Mary Penrod of Carrizozo, Lorenza Trujillo of T or C, Becky Wyatt of Carrizozo, Bertha Griego of Capitan, Patsy Ortiz of Carrizozo, George Verdugo of Carrizozo and James Verdugo of Alamogordo 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was also preceded in death by a son, David Verdugo.

Prayer service will be Friday, September 14, at 7:00 PM at Santa Ritas Catholic Church where the funeral mass will be on Saturday, September 15, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Carrizozo.
