Mildred Taylor

Mildred Kate "Nana" Taylor passed away following a brief illness on March 20th, 2021. Kate was born in El Paso, TX on October 18th, 1925. She married Carl Taylor on June 3rd, 1947 in Alamogordo NM. Her life’s joy was her family. She shared her love freely with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and was a welcoming force as her family grew. She knew each of her family members’ birthday by heart and making sure they felt loved and special with a call on their birthday was important to her and gave her joy. Likely as many people knew her as Nana as they did Kate, because if you knew her, she was your Nana too!

Kate is preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Betty Stevenson, husband Carl, sisters Maggie and Ruby, brother Lee, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. She is survived by her 6 children, Steve Taylor, Terry Taylor (Susan), Brant Taylor (Jeanne), Wendell Taylor (Dolonna), Mona Duke (Doug), and Roddy Taylor; granddaughters Crystal Bryant (Luke), Wendy Taylor (Alonzo Acosta), Lori Wakefield (Danny), Tanna Taylor, Annette Lainson, Amanda Ponce (Noel), and Melissa Garcia; grandsons Matthew Duke (Allyson), Autrey Duke (Shilo), Ty Taylor (Ashley), Grant Taylor (Nicole Bravo), Cory Taylor (Megan), Jared Taylor (Alyssa), and Cameron Garcia, as well as 9 great granddaughters and 20 great grandsons.
