Michael J. DiSanto, 79, of Alto, NM was a loving husband, father, veteran, businessman, grandfather, community leader. He passed away on Friday, November 29, 2019, he was born January 14, 1940 in New York City to Catherine and Michael A. DiSanto.
Mike is preceded in death by stepdaughter Theresa R. Link and survived by his wife Martha Ann (Marty) DiSanto, 4 children, Dennis DiSanto and his wife Cindy, Terry DiSanto and his wife Christen, Margie Pinder and her husband David and step-son, Carl Link, Jr. and his wife Kelly; seven grandsons and 3 great grandchildren.
He enlisted in the Air Force in 1958 and served in a variety of roles through the Vietnam War, over the next three decades rising to the rank of Colonel.
He was a business leader involved in the construction industry from 1974 to 2003. While in El Paso, he was a Project Manager for Dieter & James and later Arrow Building Corp. where projects included multiple schools, the UTEP swimming complex and PETRO Truck stops in Texas and various states around the United States. In 2000 he moved to Dallas area to be a Project Manager for Hunt Building Corp. for the last 3 ½ years of his career.
Mike retired to Alto, New Mexico in June 2003 where he was able to enjoy the happiest part of his life using his talents to improve the quality of life for everyone. He was an active member of the Alto Lakes Golf & Country Club serving first on the Water Board, Long Range Planning commission, Men’s Golf Association, and chaired the Construction Advisory Commission. He served two 3-year terms on the Board of Directors. During his tenure on the Board, he assisted in the development of the Alto Water & Sanitation District and the sale of the Water Company to the Water District and the acquisition of the Outlaw. He served as Project Manager and/or Board Liaison for numerous Club improvements including the Alto kitchen renovation and update, outdoor dining at Alto and the Outlaw dining area renovation, tennis court construction at the Outlaw and construction of storage addition and update of the pavilion and third dining room.

The Celebration of Life will be held at the Alto Lakes Golf and Country Club on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 1:00 P.M.
