Mary Nava

Prayer service for Mary H. Nava, 83, of Carrizozo will be Thursday, Nov. 13, at 7:00 PM in Santa Rita's Catholic Church where the funeral mass will be on Friday, Nov. 14, at 10:00 AM with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Nava passed away Sunday, Nov. 9, in Carrizozo. She was born June 22, 1925 at Ancho, New Mexico and had lived in Lincoln County all of her life. She had worked at Ft. Stanton Hospital and then went to work at New Horizons in Carrizozo for 16 years and retired in 2001. She attended Santa Rita's Catholic Church. She married Robert Nava on January 19, 1945 in Carrizozo. She is survived by her husband, Robert Nava; children, Esther Nava of Hagerman, Angelina Vega and her husband, Joe J. Vega of Carrizozo, Dolores Nava of Carrizozo, Freddie Nava and his wife Vanessa of Carrizozo; two brothers, Flavio Herrera and his wife Connie of Topeka, Kansas and Joe Herrera of Roswell; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Nava Jr.; sisters, Josephine Padilla and Ramona Kookesh; half sisters, Porfiria Romero and Luisa Garcia and half brothers, Miguel Romero and Felipe Herrera.
