Mari Nanz

Nanz, Mari Kay - Mari Kay Nanz, age 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, in Alamogordo, NM.

A Celebration of Life for Mari Kay will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Cree Meadows Country Club, 301 Country Club Drive.

Mari Kay was born in Whiting, Iowa on December 31, 1946 to Kermit and Elaine Lee. She graduated from Sargent Bluff High School in Sargent Bluff Iowa and went on to attend College at the University of South Dakota where she married James Baumann and had one child J.R. Baumann. After College Mari Kay applied her teaching degree and worked both in El Paso and Canutillo teaching elementary school. After Mari Kay and James divorced in 1984, she met and married Ronnie Vaughan and worked alongside Ronnie to establish the Mazda dealership in Albuquerque New Mexico. After her divorce with Ronnie Vaughan Mari Kay married the love of her life Pete Nanz and established a household in Ruidoso New Mexico where she spent her time in the real-estate market.
Mari Kay loved her family, friends, neighbors, dogs, reading, and doing cross word puzzles. Everyone loved Mari Kay, her willingness to help others out and her deep love for her little puppy dogs. She was a lady who prided herself on her children and grandchildren whom she loved very dearly.

Mari Kay is preceded in death by her mother Elaine Lee and her husband Pete Nanz. She is survived by her father, Kermit Lee, her brother Dennis Lee, her son J.R. Baumann and her two grandsons Kermit and Cody Baumann

Special thanks from Mari Kay's family to the caregivers at the Casa Arena Blanca Nursing Center in Alamogordo, NM and to the great people at Gerald Champion Hospital in Alamogordo, NM for the care and love they gave to Mari Kay in the last months of her life.
