Lucia Padilla

Visitation for Lucia Montoya Padilla, 93, of Capitan will Monday, Sept. 28, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Capitan from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with the prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM. The funeral mass will be Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow at the Capitan Cemetery. Mrs. Padilla passed away Friday, Sept. 25, in Mescalero. She was born January 1, 1916 at Encinoso, NM to Martinita and Leopoldo Montoya. She lived most of life in Capitan and had worked at the Ft. Stanton Hospital. She attended the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include her seven sons, Tony Padilla, Eddy Padilla, Willie Padilla, Alfred Padilla, Richard Padilla, Freddie Padilla and Jimmy Padilla; a daughter, Cecilia Ethridge; her sister, Rosa Nunez and two brothers, Fermin Montoya and Mack Montoya; 24 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Padilla on February 18, 1961; her daughters, Mary Gonzalez and Cecilia Padilla and her sons, Frank Padilla and Ben Padilla.
