Lorda Valdez

Lorda E. Valdez passed away on July 1, 2019 in Mescalero, NM with her family by her side.

She was born on November 30, 1939 in Mescalero, NM to William Magoosh Jr and Betty Botella Magoosh, both deceased. She was the great, great granddaughter of Chief Magoosh.

Lorda has gone into eternal peace to be with her parents, her brothers Gerald Magoosh Sr, Ellery Magoosh, and William Magoosh III, as well as her sister Marybelle Chino and infant Mary Magoosh, and daughter Cindy Valdez.

Lorda is survived by her children Louann (Silas) Cochise, Miriam Valdez, Denise Valdez, Gaberiel Valdez, Daniel Valdez, and James Valdez; her sister Ceda Ann (Joseph) Shanta, and 23 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Lorda was a housewife and homemaker for most of her adult life. She enjoyed the outdoors and being with her family. She will be greatly missed.

Services for Lorda will be on Wednesday July 3, 2019. The rosary will be at 9:30 am with the funeral mass to follow at 10:00am at St Joseph's Apache Mission in Mescalero, NM. Interment will follow at the Mescalero Cemetery and the family will serve lunch at the Mescalero Community Center following the burial.
