Lewis Lapaz

Prayer service for Lewis LaPaz, 80, of Mescalero will be Monday, Sept. 26, at 6:00 PM at St. Josephs Mission at Mescalero where the funeral service will be Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 10:00 AM, burial will follow at the LaPaz Family Cemetery.

Mr. LaPaz passed away Friday, September 23, 2011, in Alamogordo. He was born October 23, 1930 at Mescalero and had lived there all of his life. He served in the Army during the Korean War, he was retired from Mescalero IHS as motor vehicle foreman and had served on the Mescalero Tribal Council for man years. He attended St. Josephs Mission.

He is survived by his children: Wilmer LaPaz and his wife Dana, Louise LaPaz and her husband Monroe Sandoval, Summer LaPaz and her husband Tony Rodriguez, and Thomas LaPaz and his wife Kristi 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James LaPaz and Myra Mancito LaPaz brothers and sisters, Pauline LaPaz, Lena Kirgan, LeoLaPaz Sr., Christie LaPaz Sr., and Fran LaPaz half sisters, Mammie Tortilla, Rachel Venego, and Emily Botella.
