Leora Zumwalt

Funeral service for Leora Zumwalt, 101, of Nogal will be Tuesday, Sept. 28, at 1:00 PM in the Nogal Presbyterian Church at Nogal with burial to follow at the Angus Cemetery at Angus. Mrs. Zumwalt passed away Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Mescalero. She was born January 11, 1909 in Missouri.

She moved to New Mexico in 1930 from Missouri after she met Murray Gordon Mert Zumwalt while visiting her sister in Tucumcari. They married a few months later on January 23, 1931 in Carrizozo and he preceded her in death on May 13, 1994. She was proud to be a wife, mother and homemaker and she loved everybody she met. She attended the Nogal Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her children, Donna Kennedy and her husband Jerry of Rio Rancho, NM, Jane Snider of Morgantown, IN and Lloyd Zumwalt and his wife Brenda of Nogal 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Ted Zumwalt in October, 2008 and Glyn Zumwalt in May, 1992.
