Kenneth G. Ramey died September 8, 2008 in Ruidoso, New Mexico. He was born January 3, 1929 in Oklahoma. At eighteen, he joined the United States Army Air Force and was stationed in San Antonio and Alaska. After he left the Army he became a member of the El Paso Fire Department, retiring after twenty-five years. He loved the job and remained friends with many of his fellow fireworker until his death. After his retirement, he moved to Ruidoso and began working as a Building Contractor.
He was a member of the Episcopal Church and over the six years of his illness was supported and loved by the members and Clergy of the Church of the Holy Mount.
He is survived by four brothers, Bill, Mont, Dan, and Doug Ramey; two sisters, Dolores Gordon and Jo Ann Decker. Also his beloved daughter, Sidia Rodriquez and her three daughters, Michele, Yvette and Denise, and five great grandchildren and one great great grandson. He also had two stepchildren, Karen Beck and Frank Beck and two stepgrandsons, Victor and Hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
I am so very sad to lose him but will think of him and love him every day for the rest of my life. Another one of our heros has fallen. I am proud to have been his wife, Jordan.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 21, at 4:00 PM at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Mount.
