Kenneth Knobel

July 24, 1950 — August 17, 2022

Kenneth Lee Knobel who everyone calls Kenny was born on July 24, 1950 in Casper, Wyoming. He graduated high school in 1968 from Natrona County High School. After his basic training for the Wyoming National Guard, he went back to Casper and married his high school sweetheart, Cheryl Stephenson on August 29, 1969. Kenny decided on a career as a pharmacist and went on to Junior College in Casper and then to the University of Wyoming at Laramie, Wyoming. He graduated Pharmacy School in May, 1974 and he and Cheryl moved to El Paso, Texas where Kenny worked for Walgreens.

Kenny and Cheryl lived in El Paso until 2001 when they moved to the mountains of Ruidoso, New Mexico. Kenny was an avid bird watcher and loved to play golf. He and Cheryl were members of the Ruidoso Bird Watchers Club, Cree Meadows Country Club and Alto Lakes Golf and Country Club in Ruidoso and Alto, respectively. After a few years, they bought a used motor home and would spend a lot of time in the winter in Turquoise Valley (near Bisbee), Arizona. Cheryl still resides in the home they bought together in Ruidoso.

Kenny is survived by his Sister, Donna Methena and her husband Rick who reside in Houston, Texas; his brother Tom and his wife Beverly who reside in Casper, Wyoming; his niece, Dawn Bruder and her two daughters, McKenna and Megan also from Houston, Texas; and sister-in-law, Sandy Mosteller and her husband Charlie who reside in Casper, Wyoming.

He is preceded in death by his brother Billy Knobel, his nephew Scott Smith, and his parents Don and June Knobel.

Kenny loved the forest and will have his ashes distributed in an area he loved very much and will be at peace after his two year battle with esophageal cancer.

In lieu of flowers, Kenny would like donations to be made to the Lincoln County Humane Society, 25962 Highway 70, Ruidoso, New Mexico 88345.
