Prayer service for Karl Isaac Kazhe, 73, of Mescalero will be Thursday, May 6, at 6:00 PM at the Mescalero Reformed Church where the funeral service will be on Friday, May 7, at 10:00 AM with burial to follow at the White Tail Cemetery.
Mr. Kazhe died peacefully at his home on May, 3, 2010 surrounded by his family. He was born September 29, 1936 to Isaac and Dorcie Kazhe in Scaton, Arizona who precede him in death. He was a member of the Mescalero Apache Tribe, but was proud of his Pima and Tohono Oodhom heritage. Karl proudly served his country with 25 years of service in the US Navy Corp.
He was honorabley discharged as a Petty Officer 1st Class on June 30, 1980. During his years of service he was stationed on numerous aircraft carriers as well as serving with tours of duty during the Vietnam Conflict. After retiring from the Navy, Karl worked in various capacities including serving n the Alamogordo Police Dept.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia brother, Peter Kazhe sister, Lynette Kanseah children, Karlene Toehay, Kim Cedillo, Becky Kazhe, Brian Kazhe, and Josea Kazhe 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a sister, Carla Kazhe and a brother Jerry Kazhe.
