Judy Kannady

A memorial service for Judy Kannady, 68, of Ruidoso will be Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 2:00 PM in the Gateway Church of Christ in Ruidoso. Mrs. Kannady passed away Saturday, September 26, 2009 in Albuquerque. She was born March 3, 1941 at Aitkin, Minnesota and she moved to Ruidoso in 1962. While in Ruidoso she worked with the Postal Service from 1969 until 1996 and served as the supervisor at Hollywood Station for 15 years. In 1998 she went to work at the Four Seasons Real Estate Office. She married Jack Kannady on October 25, 1959 in Ruidoso. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jack Kannady; a daughter, Kim Atwood; granddaughter, Jessica Mitchell; grandson, Joshua Mitchell; three brothers, Jerry Nelson, Bill Nelson, and Don Nelson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Irv and Helen Nelson and a son, Kyle Kannady. The family has requested memorials to the Humane Society of Lincoln County, PO Box 2832, Ruidoso, NM 88355. Following the service there will be a Celebration of Life and reception at the Kannady residence.
