Trinidad Olvera passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, July 6, 2023. He was originally born in Ameca, Jalisco, on May 26, 1929, as one of nine children. In his youth, Trini moved to Puerto Vallarta, where he met his lovely wife, Kay; together, they started a beautiful family of seven children. They would later move to Ruidoso in 1981, where he spent the remainder of his life. Trinidad was a devoted Catholic who enjoyed reading scripture during mass. Throughout his journey, Trini accomplished much, including not just running and owning multiple small businesses in both Mexico and the U.S., but even winning numerous marksman awards in his youth. He was also a masterful storyteller who, whether telling a simple joke or describing a memory from his childhood, could recall scenes in stunning detail. As his own story comes to an end, his family and friends remember him as a sharp man who enjoyed singing, helping others, and good tequila.
Trini was preceded in death by his wife Kay Olvera, son Juan Olvera, and grandson CJ Gomez, as well as his parents, Manuel, and Aurelia Olvera, six brothers, and one sister.
He is survived by 6 children, Cesar Olvera (Deanna Olvera), Elizabeth de Real (Gabriel del Real), Veronica Gomez (Cesar Gomez), Francisco Olvera (Cinda Olvera), Angie Julian(Jay Julian) Amy de Monet (Joaquin De Monet), as well as his grandchildren Anya, Alyssa and Aly Olvera; Lupe, Roberto, Erica and Vianey Herrera; Adrian, Fabian, Marisa and Ericka Olvera; Katie and Alex Gomez; Chris, Hannah and Mary Kathryn; Catalina and Mia De Monet. He had 12 great grandchildren.
