John Earl Woodward II, age 52, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, August 6th 2013. John was born on April 16th, 1961 in Farmington, NM. John married the love of his life, Tammy Woodward, on April 19th, 1986 and celebrated 27 years of marriage this past April.
Often known as Big John he is survived by his wife, Tammy Woodward of Ruidoso, NM, his daughters: Landree Steadman and husband Russell Steadman of Amarillo, Tx, Lexie Woodward of Ruidoso, NM, and Lynette Woodward and future son inlaw Dustin Prelo of Ruidoso, NM. He is also survived by his mother Dee Woodward of Ruidoso, NM , father John Woodward of Spearman, Tx, his mother inlaw Melba Rook of Spearman, Tx and many many friends.
John and Tammy moved to Ruidoso in 2002 from Spearman, TX. A true cabinetry craftsman, John built custom cabinets in the Texas Panhandle the majority of his career and later became the most known paper distributor in Ruidoso and could be seen every morning at 4 a.m. delivering the worlds news in the nicest pair of overalls one can wear. John loved the mountains, his horsey races, fishing, cooking, music, the Pittsburg Steelers, gardening, and most of all his girls.
His celebration of life service will be held at Riverside Park in Ruidoso Downs on August 9th, 2013 at 10:00 AM. The service will be officiated by his mother inlaw Melba Rook. Memorials can be made in honor of John to the Ruidoso Optimist Club to be redistributed throughout the community that John loved so much or ones charity of choice.
