John R. “Jack” Ward, passed away at 67 years old, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He spent his final years enjoying the peace and quiet of his 100-acre spread.

Jack was known for his work ethic, adventurous spirit, and diverse interests. An avid gold miner who also enjoyed logging, tinkering with old trucks, and four-wheeling, he embraced life with enthusiasm. He had a special fondness for beans and ribeye steaks, often sharing meals with family and friends while listening to his favorite music, which included artists like Tom T. Hall, Linda Ronstadt, Neil Young, Led Zeppelin, Canned Heat, and Gordon Lightfoot.

A man of many talents, Jack’s career in heavy construction showcased his dedication and skill. He was a fierce protector of those he loved and had a big heart, always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh. His personality was defined by a unique blend of truth and sarcasm.

He thoroughly enjoyed his 16 grandbabies and 1 great grandbaby. He is also survived by his brothers, Tom Ward, Don Ward, and beloved his sister, Margot.

In addition to his love for family, Jack had a deep affection for animals, never meeting one he didn't like. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him, especially for the moments spent sitting atop his hill, enjoying a cold beverage as the sun set on another day.

A celebration of life will be announced soon.
