John Juan sidecar Willard Franklin, 62, of Ruidoso NM, passed away on Monday September 16, 2013. One of four sons to Evolee Franklin and John Franklin Senor, John was born in Chandler, Oklahoma.
John married Sara Franklin in 1974. They shared a memorable, long marriage of 29 years raising Johnnie and David, his sons. After Saras death, John married Beth Franklin and raised his daughter Alicia. He was preceded in death by his first wife Sara.
He was survived by his wife of ten years, Beth, his mother Lee and father John, his two sons Johnnie and David, his two daughters Amanda and Alicia, his twelve grandchildren and his three great grandchildren. John served in Vietnam then worked until retirement from Tuboscope.
John enjoyed four wheeling, riding his Harley, floating down the river, morning coffee runs with the dogs in his classic cars, and a nice cold cervesa beer, as he would call them. Every conversation held with John included a couple good jokes, some history, and anything but boring. None of his family could ever keep him quiet.
His services will be held on Monday, September 23, at 10:00 am at the Crosswinds Church in Hobbs NM and at 10:00 am on October 6th in Terlingua at his home in Texas. There will be a get together on October 5th at the BJ RV Park. The family requests that all flowers be sent to the home Church 1701 N Jefferson Hobbs NM 88241. For any other questions you may contact his wife at 575 808 8355.
