Funeral service for Joel P. Lathan, 76, of Tularosa will be Tuesday, April 12, at 10:00 AM in St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church in Tularosa. Officiating will be Deacon Mariano Melendrez. Burial will follow at Santo Nino Cemetery at Three Rivers.
Mr. Lathan passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011 in Las Cruces, NM. He was born August 11, 1934 at Asheville, NC. He had lived in Tularosa since 1994 moving from Durham, NC. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and had served in the Navy.
He is survived by his children, John Lathan, Timothy Lathan, Patricia Lathan, Norman Lathan, Michelle Lathan, Margaret Lathan, Perry Lathan, and Joel Lathan Jr. a sister, Jante Lathan and a brother, William D. Lathan 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
