Joe Preston

Joe Don Preston passed away on Wednesday, May 17,2017. He was born in Childress, Texas, on Sept. 27,1938. He graduated from Childress High School in 1957. He attended Texas Tech and graduated from West Texas State University in 1964. He served in the Army in the early sixties.

He was currently a member of Tempe First Methodist Church in Tempe, AZ. After moving to Ruidoso he joined Community United Methodist Church and served on various committees in both churches
Don was a pharmaceutical representative (his family and friends called him a drug rep) for over 30 years. He started his career in Midland, Texas, and then transferred to Phoenix, Arizona. He retired in 2002 when he and his wife moved to Ruidoso, NM.
Don was a lover of old vehicles and was a member of the Pine Top Car Club. His pride and joy was a 1964 Chevy pickup that he refurbished.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Kathleen Preston, and one son, Jack. He is survived by his wife Jane of the home, a daughter Elizabeth of California, a son Gregory of Phoenix, and a sister Sue Hicks of Irving, and a great grandson, Drake

A celebration of his life will be on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the Community United Methodist Church in Ruidoso.

The family has requested memorials to the Building Fund at Community United Methodist Church or the Humane Society of Lincoln County.
