Joan Phippeny

August 18, 1931 — February 25, 2024

In loving memory of Joan Phippeny, a cherished soul who graced this world with her presence. She was born on a warm August day in 1931 and departed from us on a peaceful February morning in 2024. Joan, known for her green thumb and creative spirit, filled the lives of those around her with love and beauty.

Throughout her life, Joan found solace and joy in tending to her gardens, nurturing both vibrant flowers and bountiful vegetables. Her artistic talent shone through in her various arts and craft projects, reflecting the colors of her kind and gentle heart. A dedicated worker at the naval base in San Diego, California, Joan's commitment to service extended beyond her professional duties.

One of Joan's greatest passions was lending a helping hand at Diamond Point summer homes, where she became an integral part of the community. Her selfless acts of volunteering to assist the cabin owners highlighted her generous nature and unwavering compassion. Additionally, as a Tonto Village Firefly volunteer, Joan brought light and warmth to those in need, embodying the true spirit of kindness.

Among Joan's proudest accomplishments were the numerous blue ribbons she received for her arts, canning skills, and wine-making expertise. Her dedication to excellence and attention to detail were evident in every project she undertook. A lifelong Girl Scout, Joan embodied the values of courage, confidence, and character throughout her journey.

Joan Phippeny leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. May we find solace in knowing that Joan now tends to the most beautiful gardens in heaven, surrounded by the eternal love she so freely shared during her time with us.
