Jimmy Jack Jim Butler passed away Wednesday November 12, 2008 at 7:20 A.M. of a heart attack at the Lincoln County Medical Center. He was born September 8, 1938 in Hereford, Texas. Jim grew up and operated a business in Dimmitt, Texas for more than 20 years. He lived in Ruidoso the last 15 years where he owned and operated a Medical courier service.

He was a member of First Christian Church, the Ruidoso Jockey Club, an avid horse racing fan and sports enthusiast. Before he retired, he was a scratch golfer and loved the game. He was the managing partner of a horse racing partnership.

His Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. at the First Christian Church in Ruidoso, New Mexico and a reception will follow at the Innsbrook Village Club House located at 103 Innsbrook Drive. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Christian Church building fund. 1211 Hull Road, Ruidoso, New Mexico 88345.

His father, Joe Butler, who passed away in 1984, precedes him in death. Jim is survived by his loving wife Ann Butler of the home, his mother, Kathleen Dugan Butler, brother, Joe Bill Butler and wife Soy of Bahrain, sons Jimmy Joe Butler and his wife Rachael of Kent, Washington, Jeffery Jay Butler and his wife Milly of Coppell, Texas, daughter Jane Tavern and her husband Rick of Forney, Texas, step-son Rev. Tommy Hays and his wife Tricia of Wilmore, Kentucky, step-son Gregory Hays of Ruidoso, 12 grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.
