Jesus Davalos

Jesus (Chui) Melendrez Davalos of Bent, New Mexico, passed away at 90 years of age on October 28, 2022.

Chui was born January 17, 1932, to Sotero and Jararada Melendrez in Vado, NM and was the 6th of 11 children. On September 12, 1949, Chui married Miguel (Mike) L. Davalos, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church Mescalero, New Mexico. She is survived by 4 children, Michael M. Davalos, Minerva J. Davalos, Estella D. Davalos, and Norma M. Davalos Ouellette, 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren.

Chui cherished her time acting as a Mayordoma at the Our Lady de Guadalupe Church and was very active in several community volunteer programs.

Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church in Bent, New Mexico, on November 5th at 10:00 am, where she was a member for over 50 years.

In lieu of flowers family request donations be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Post Office Box 154, Bent, New Mexico 88314, a place Chui held very close to her heart.
