Jerry Leon Reynolds, 75, of Capitan passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 in Capitan. He was born on July 20, 1942 to Herman L. and Nadene"Brown" Reynolds in Gober, Texas.
Jerry's family moved to New Mexico when he was eight years old, first to Alamogordo then to Ruidoso where he graduated from Ruidoso High in 1961. In 1965 he joined the Army and was stationed in Panama as a heavy equipment operator.
In 1968 he married Sandy Shaw and had two wonderful sons, Chad and Corey.
Over the years Jerry worked in construction but his love was operating heavy equipment.
Preceding Jerry in death is a brother and sister, his son, Corey and his father and mother and a niece, Becky.
Jerry is survived by a son, Chad(Sherry) Reynolds; grandchildren, Joey(Cheyenne) Jarvis, Dusty Reynolds and Ashley Reynolds(Caleb); great grandchildren, Erika, Loren and Lane Jarvis; his brother, Herman D. (Kathy) Reynolds; sister, Janie Lester, several nieces and nephews. His caregiver and friend, Sandy Shaw and fur baby, Punkin.
He loved his family and working hard and caring for friends.
A graveside service will be Saturday, September 9, at 10:00 A.M. in the Capitan Cemetery.
The family has requested memorials to Melanoma Cancer Research.
