James Wiley

James Robert Wiley passed on to be with his Lord Jesus in Albuquerque, NM, on Tuesday, July 20, 2010. He was 58 years old. He was born March 19, 1952 in Austin, TX.

Beloved by his family and many friends, Jim Wiley is survived by his daughter, Christina Powell and two grandchildren, Brice and Haegon Powell of Winnie, TX his mother, Mary Jane Wiley of Alto, NM his sister, Ann Anderson and her husband Darrell of Alto, NM his nephews, Chris Anderson of Frisco, TX, Peter Anderson and his wife, Melissa and their children, Joshua and Hannah of Mansfield, TX and Matthew and wife Rachel of Ruidoso, NM. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles A. Pete Wiley.

After graduating from Beaumont High School in Texas, Jim attended Lamar University and the University of North Texas as a music major, receiving the Outstanding Musician award at the University of Texas Jazz Festival. Traveling the country, he played in several funk rock bands in the 70s. He moved to Ruidoso in 1983 to work in the family business, TRN Music Publisher, Inc., assuming the role of President of TRN upon his fathers death in 1992.

Graveside services will be Friday, July 23, at 10:00 AM at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Ruidoso with a memorial service at 3:00 PM in Casa Blance Restaurant.
