James Jim Sharman, 84, passed away on December 20, 2011 at his home in Ruidoso, following a short battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family who loved him very much. He had been the chief engineer at KOATTV in Albuquerque for over 30 years before retiring. He and his wife Astrid moved to Ruidoso in 1995.
Jim was a loving husband and father. He was also an avid pilot who flew his own plane as recently as last month. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Astrid, and four children: Leslie Gibson of Albuquerque, Scott Sharman of Burleson, TX, Jim Sharman of Brighton, CO and Lynn Ruoff of College Station, TX. He is also survived by ten grandchildren: Chris and Kimberly Gibson, Amanda Slay, Landon Sharman Eric and Adam Sharman, Rick and Marisa Lucero Brett and Cathy Ruoff as well as two great grandchildren, Brayden and Paxton Slay.
